METAA is the CoSN state chapter, and is the only professional organization in Massachusetts representing the requirements, interests, and professional development needs of Educational Technology Administrators.
 
We are pleased to let you know about a free event that CoSN is co-hosting (with SAS and LeNovo) in Massachusetts.
 
SAS, CoSN and Lenovo invite you to join your colleagues in K-12 education and several industry visionaries for an exclusive half-day event:


Mastering the Moment:
Effective Leadership in Challenging Economic Times
 
This will be at the SAS offices at the Prudential Tower on September 22nd.

Attendees will view a live Webcast with Q&A, featuring education technology experts Sharnell Jackson, Rich Kaesnter, Keith Krueger and Bill Rust. They will share their knowledge and insight into how decision-making solutions can make a difference during a tough economy.

Afterwards, you'll have the opportunity to participate in lively and informative roundtable discussions led by an on-site moderator from your region. This will be a great opportunity for networking and sharing best practices with other K-12 leaders.
 
Registration for this event is complimentary and breakfast or lunch will be served, depending on location.

Attendees will be eligible to enter a drawing for a Lenovo IdeaPad Netbook. One prize awarded per location.

Register Now for ISTE 2010 in Denver, Colorado, June 27-30

Excitement is building for our 31st annual conference in the breathtaking city of Denver! We've set our sights even higher this year, building off our amazing conference in Washington, DC, in June 2009.Plan now to keep ISTE 2010 in your sights and budget. ARRA/stimulus monies, including formula and competitive grant monies, can be used to integrate technology into the classroom, improve achievement through the use of technology, and/or provide required supporting professional development.

Online Call for Proposals-Open Until October 7

 
Funding Membership
 
Both CoSN and METAA provide professional development. If your district technology or professional development budgets are not able to fund this membership we urge you to investigate using state grant money for this - discuss with your district grant liaison, the possibility of using either Title IID (Enhancing Education Through Technology) or Title IIA (Improving Educator Quality) or stimulus money.
 
As ISTE said so well in their update to members:
