Code of Conduct

METAA Event Code of Conduct

Commitment to Inclusion and Respect

METAA is committed to providing a professional, friendly, safe, and welcoming environment for all participants, regardless of gender, sexual orientation, disability, race, ethnicity, religion, national origin, or other protected class.

We expect all event participants—including attendees, speakers, and sponsors—to communicate professionally and constructively, whether in person or virtually. Participants should handle disagreements with courtesy, dignity, and an open mind; provide respectful feedback; and be receptive to differing viewpoints.

Speakers should stay on the session topic, which has been approved by METAA to address the needs and interests of our members. Speakers should avoid using inflammatory language or making derogatory comments about any political affiliations, nations, or groups; recognize the diversity of views among conference attendees; and direct critiques towards ideas rather than individuals or specific groups. Speakers who violate these guidelines may be asked to modify their content or, in severe cases, may be removed from the conference program

When sharing information about METAA or its events through public communication channels, members and participants are expected to act responsibly, clearly distinguishing opinions from facts to maintain transparency.  Unless specifically authorized by METAA, all members and participants should make it clear that they offer information or opinions in their own capacity only and not as a representative of METAA.

Unacceptable behavior will not be tolerated at any time during the event. All participants are subject to this Code of Conduct.

  • Weapons Prohibition: The possession of firearms or other weapons is strictly prohibited at all METAA events

Reporting an Incident

If you believe you have been subject to harassment, witnessed prohibited conduct, or are aware of any violation of this Code of Conduct, please report the incident promptly by emailing metaa@techdirectors.org. METAA takes all concerns seriously and will address them promptly and confidentially.

METAA reserves the right to take appropriate actions in response to any misconduct, including but not limited to:

  • Immediate removal from the event without warning or refund.
